Using a SuperK Supercontinuum Light Source for OCT Images

OCT images of a live zebrafish with an eye diameter of 800 µm, acquired with the NKT Photonics SuperK supercontinuum laser, and the Bioptigen R2200 system. This image was acquired to display in real-time at 32,000 Ascans/second with sub 1 µm lateral sampling and approximately 2 µm depth resolution.

On the left is the B-scan, and on the right is a surface projection showing the cone mosaic in the zebrafish (no adaptive optics). No post-processing, except a factor of 2 speed up. As-acquired with no averaging and no manipulation. Video recorded by Bioptigen.
