Zygo’s Optical Systems Division Secures CEA Order for Laser Fusion Amplifiers

Provider of optical metrology devices and precision optics, Zygo declared that its Optical Systems Division has received a continuation order from Commissariat a l''energie atomique (CEA) to deliver meter class laser fusion amplifiers.

The $3 million continuation order will support the Laser Megajoule (LMJ) Program where Zygo continues to provide various technologies and products.

The CEA order, which is a part of a long-term contract, began in 2007 and is expected to continue till 2014.

The President of Zygo’s Optical Systems Division, John Stack stated that the company is pleased to supply the meter class laser fusion optics for the CEA Megajoule program. He added that the company’s capability to develop high precision optics remains its fundamental strengths in the semiconductor, research and defense market places.
